Worked as a toymaker attached to Elmfield Rudolph Styner School in Stourbridge making ‘Woodpecker Toys’.
Set up ‘Barmouth Pottery’ making reduced fired stoneware.
Part-time lecturer in Kelsterton technical college Connah’s Quay teaching general studies and life drawing in the art department.
Also part-time lecturer at Wrexham College of Art.
Organised and ran private residential workshops in pottery in Bala
Pottery course teacher for Urdd Centre on Bala Lake.
Extensive research trip to Greece visiting archaeological sites. Teaching also in a language school in Athens.
Some of my drawings during this period were exhibitied in an exhibition in Athens.
Opened studio / Gallery in Barmouth. Engaged in many kinds of graphic design activities, sign-writing, screen printing, leaflet design and illustration.
During this period spent another period of time in Greece and Turkey studying the origin of human settlement. Many of the subsequent paintings have used material from this period of research.
Led Workshops in Rhyl Arts Centre for Denbigh County Council. Workshop was based around a Neanderthal excavation made by the children in the library car park. Led to much painting and sculpture.
Set up ‘Synaptic Connections. Design studio, undertaking a wide range of PC based design work, web design, software development etc.
Designed and made 2 large exhibition tables for the Welsh Cullinary team who represented Wales at culinary exhibitions. The first table was used at the ‘Culinary Olympics’ in Berlin., the second designed for an international competition in Glasgow.
Employed by the Max Plank Institute to illustrate the official report outlining proposals for a new interactive science centre concerned with genetic engineering to be built on the south bank of the Rhine.
Employed to make some exhibits for the ‘Sea Myths and Monsters’ temporary exhibition for the ‘Explore’ Maratime Museum in Portaferry Co Down N. Ireland.
Was head of an unsuccessful bid to raise some blocks of Carara marble from the seabed near Dyffryn to be used in an international sculture competition.
Lecturing part time in Coleg Harlech
Computer consultance contract with Elwa (for 5 years)
Development of ‘virtual visit website technology’
Development of other interactive web based sites including ‘The gallery of iterating spaces’.
Chairman of ‘Harlech Dispersed Gallery’.
Began to develop ideas for the ‘Sustainable Genome’ sculpture using carved wooden sculpture with computer-controlled elements.
Spent a month travelling South India working on a series of drawings and later paintings of the temples in Tamil Nadu. Explored the ‘lost wax’ foundry industry around Sidi Buri near Kumbakorum in the Chola Valley.
